Be Brave & Create:
an Art Empowerment Camp for Girls
This is the very first art camp that got things started at Little Wildflowers Art Studio. It's open to girls in 3 different age groups during 3 different weeks during the summer.
If we learn to love & respect ourselves, then we can be the best versions of ourselves for our friends, families & the world. This is the premise of Be Brave & Create art camp.
Each day of this camp, we focus on a different theme. For example, self-respect on one day, courage another day & responsibility another. We use a variety of art mediums during the week, like clay, collage, art journaling, acrylic paints, jewelry design & soo much more.
Every year, we create a self-portrait masterpiece to document where we are at that stage in our life, depicting our interests, values and self views during that time. They always turn out to be amazingly beautiful.
The girls leave with several awesome projects to display around their rooms to remind them of how awesome and creative they are!
The projects will be modified to suit the appropriate age group.
Details:
-there are THREE different age groups, coming on THREE different weeks:
-ages 5-8* come June 17th-21st from 9am-12pm each day (*5 year olds MUST have completed kindergarten)
-ages 9-12 come July 15th-19th from 9am-12pm each day
-NEW AGE GROUP! ages 13-16 come August 12th-16th from 9am-12pm each day
-a healthy snack is provided daily
-$250 per artist (a $50 deposit holds your artist's space in the class)

As we look out our studio windows and see the beautiful ocean, we can't help but think about all of the creatures and creations we want to recreate!
In this camp, we will create an amazing 3D ocean scene using paint, clay, wood, textiles & beauties we collect from our beach walk.
We will also make a mixed media masterpiece on a canvas featuring an awesome ocean animal, along with some ocean-themed slime. Plus so many more new projects!

-open to both boys & girls, ages 5-9* (*must have completed kindergarten)
-July 1st-5th from 9am-12pm each day
-healthy snack and water provided each day
-$250 per artist (a $50 deposit holds your artist's space)

Wildflower Sprouts (ages 3-5):
Mystical Creatures art camp
Bring your 3-5 year old little wildflower "sprout" to paint, cut, glue & E X P L O R E color and creativity! In these 2 day art camps, we will use a variety of art mediums and brushes to make a masterpiece, but also have some squishy fun.
The first one will be a "Mystical Creatures Camp" where we will focus on creating dragons and unicorns.
The second camp will be an "Ocean Creatures Camp" where we will focus on some of our favorite ocean animals and plants.
They're both going to be amazing and my toddler and I are SO super E X C I T E D!
Camp Details:
-"Little Wildflower Sprout" camp is for boys & girls ages 3-5 (must have NOT completed kindergarten)
-Mystical Creatures Camp: July 10th-11th from 9-10:30am both days
-Ocean Creatures Camp: August 7th-8th from 9-10:30am both days
an adult is welcome to join on one or both days if they would like, but an adult is not required
-$65 per artist (a $30 deposit holds your artist's space)

You may remember the "Design Your Own Dollhouse/Treehouse" camp that I had last summer. I knew from experience that the girls would L O V E this concept of getting their OWN house to paint on, glue on, put floors in, make appliances for, and soo much more.
But I had 5 boys register and was super excited (but slightly nervous) that they would get bored by this concept. I could not have been more WRONG! They loved it equally as much as the girls!
Some of the kids were focused on making their house perfectly realistic, with real tile floors (generously donated by Outer Banks Tile), subtle wall colors, creative but practical stoves/fridges/furniture, etc.
One little artist turned her playhouse into a horse stable and each room was a special room for her horses!
Another artist made incredibly bright living quarters for all of his lego people, complete with a deck addition, beds, and even a light fixture made from a playing card!
The innate creativity that kids can tap into when they have access to a LOT of cool supplies and are in a safe and non-judgemental art studio is absolutely A M A Z I N G to watch! The positive changes in their self-confidence are visible when we are fostering this sense of innate creativity.
House Details:
-each artist gets their own, pre-assembled house
-the house is made predominately out of solid pine. The back wall is made from MDF. The house is extremely sturdy and solid and can be hung on a wall.
-the dimensions are 23" wide x 22" tall x 8" deep
Camp Details:
-open to boys & girls, ages 5-10 (MUST have completed kindergarten)
-the dates are July 29th-August 1st
-9am-12pm each day
-healthy snack included
-$300 per artist includes house and all supplies (a $75 deposit holds your artist's space)
